After 51 years of full-time ministry, most of it as a pastor, Wanda and I are headed out on a new phase of ministry.
When we married over 13 years ago, we focused on new common interests which included motorcycling and camping and finding our new norms of life. We both enjoyed motorcycling as well as camping.
The camping started out in a tent. She actually knew more about tent camping than I did. That was a little embarrassing to me, but we had fun. We progressed from a tent to a pop-up to a class C motorhome, which got stolen, and then to a class A motorhome. The journey has been interesting to say the least.
As we camped, we saw lost people. We enjoyed campfire gatherings with friends and family, and we met lots of new people from all over. God began to speak to our hearts about ministering to them. We prayed with lots of people and a vision began to be birthed in our hearts for future ministry. This happened over a period of years and we just couldn’t get away from it.
Well, the future is now.
Campfire Ministries is beginning now! We’re on our way to Springfield, Mo, to the U. S. Missions National Chaplaincy Conference. We have been endorsed and approved as chaplains to National, State, and RV parks across America by U S Missions of the Assemblies of God.
When I was being interviewed to become a chaplain, I was asked why and how do you know you are called to do this?
My answer was simple.
When we camp, we see lost souls. We just can[t get away from it. Also, God has provided in miraculous ways for us to do this and we know He has called us as He has provided for us.
We’re on a 6-7 trip swing across he South starting in Lakeland, Fl to Tallahassee to Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, to Missouri. Then we head towards Tennessee, to North Carolina, and South Carolina down through Ga and back to Lakeland.
We’re excited and believe the Lord has some amazing thins in store. We’ll post some pictures and share our story as it unfolds,
Please pray and believe with us.
Happy Trails to you!
Wanda and Milton
